Seaton sits at the mouth of the River Axe where it meets the sea -- a shingle beach resort that draws a consistent visitor base throughout the year. The town is perhaps best known for the Seaton Tramway -- a narrow-gauge electric tramway that runs 3 miles up the Axe Valley to Colyton through the Axe Estuary RSPB wetlands. The tram terminus car park on Harbour Road is a regular lockout callout location -- visitors leaving keys in the car while boarding the tram for a day trip is a predictable scenario.
Beer (2 miles west) is a beautiful cob-built fishing village in a sheltered cove -- one of the most photographed coastal villages in Devon. Axmouth village at the estuary mouth and the surrounding lane network towards Axminster. The Branscombe National Trust area (3 miles west) also generates occasional visitor car park callouts from the beach and forge.
📍Hawkchurch & Rural EX12
