Ford is the most common make I work on. Most models from 2012 onwards use Tibbe-cut keys with transponder chips. The newer Puma, Kuga and Focus use PATS5 or Ford Pass systems — all programmable on-site.

Vauxhall is second only to Ford for callout frequency. Corsas and Astras are particularly common. Most use TI5 or HU100 key profiles. The Corsa-E and newer Mokka use push-button systems requiring specialist programming equipment.

Peugeot shares key architecture with Citroën across most platforms. The 208, 308 and 3008 are particularly common across Devon and Dorset. Most use VA2 or HU83 profiles. BSI (Body Control Module) resets sometimes needed after battery changes.

Citroën shares PSA group platform with Peugeot. The Berlingo and Dispatch are popular working vehicles — van lockouts are a regular callout. C3 and C4 models have high immobiliser sensitivity that can trigger from low car battery voltage.

Hyundai's range has grown significantly in popularity across the South West. The Tucson and i20 are most commonly seen on callout. Key programming uses PIN-based security — specialist equipment is required and dealer programming is rarely necessary.

Kia shares its key programming architecture with Hyundai on most platforms. The Sportage and Ceed are most frequently seen. Smart key systems on newer models (Sportage, EV6) require AUTEL-level equipment for reliable programming — not achievable with basic tools.

Honda uses HON66 key profiles on most petrol models. The Jazz is particularly common in Devon — a reliable car that often has a long life with one key that eventually needs replacing. Newer hybrid models (Jazz e:HEV, CR-V hybrid) are all programmable on-site.

The Fiat 500 is one of the most recognisable cars in the South West — and a regular on callout. The Ducato is common in campervans across Devon and Dorset. Most Fiats use SIP22 key profiles and respond well to on-site programming without dealer involvement.
